OUR PLEDGE TO OUR PLANET
Because we love our planet as much as we love our balloons, Balloon Story is committed to bringing smiles, inspiration and awareness to everyone who attends our epic events.
Working with the world's most universally recognized icon of celebration that brings happiness to millions annually, we hold our industry standards in the highest regards of sustainability and kindness to all.
Our balloon partners are proud members of the Coalition for Responsible Celebration (CRC), which advances the sustainability of the celebration industry. The CRC, focusing on responsible useage of balloons and the Smart Balloon Practices program, which is the education arm of The Balloon Industry.
Balloon Story, along with our balloon provider Sempertex is proud to be partnering with DUR, a celebrated pet brand, known for giving a 2nd life to balloons that repurpose all environmentally friendly (natural latex) balloon scraps into high-quality pet toys made of recycled Sempertex balloons and 100% natural rubber latex. Additional information regarding smart balloon practices can be found HERE
Inspired by a balloon’s 360° shape, everything comes full circle as our pledge for building a better planet for future generations is at the forefront. Our devotion to creating a second life for our balloons after Balloon Story’s NYC show is closed through this full-circle initiative will continue to bring joy to so many families.
ABOUT OUR BALLOONS
Latex Balloons are environmentally friendly made of natural latex from the rubber tree and colored with natural pigments.
They are TMTD-free, with no plasticizers, fillers or cost-reducing agents.
They have been recertified in the ISO 14001:2015 environmental care standard, where we demonstrate adopting a culture of sustainable development based on the rational use of resources in order to prevent pollution and promote environmental protection.
The balloons will break down at about the same rate as a leaf from an oak tree and wood fibers.
Balloons make up less than .5% of all waste found in the ocean and on beaches globally. Of the over 5 million items collected in ICC-sanctioned beach debris studies in 2021, the top 10 items illustrated below made up more than 75% of all beach debris collected. None of which included balloons.
Trees grown for latex production helps to reduce deforestation as the latex is extracted from the rubber trees through small slits-not requiring any trees to be cut down.
Latex is not the same as plastic-it is eco-friendly, from its manufacturing process right up through disposal.
Let’s put things in perspective.
